I said Bonjour, Bonjour, Bonjour, oh my god! To these eight vintage French basics/essentials I found on Etsy. Links in captions. I’ve included a little designer info for some brands that may not be as well known.
Sagaie Paris is a rare French designer, and this 90s black dress is sick. Wish it was a touch smaller because I would’ve spared my wallet and bought this for an upcoming wedding instead of a Ralph Lauren Purple Label piece, which I plan to add to my future archive, so I suppose it’ll all be worth it one day.
I am on the hunt for a trench and v sad this one is not in my size. Gorgeous color. Lanvin never misses. For $185, you need this. If you’re a size M wear it oversized.
She’s preppy, she’s cute, she’s 70s Rodier. Plus styled with a super clean white top as pictured or a chunky knit sweater like this one, or this one. We love.
Can never go wrong with an LBD. 1980s Franck & Fils. No sizing on this one so check out the listing for measurements. I love her for a workday to night out transition (wear your best loafers then swap out for pumps).
About the brand — Franck & Fils was a renowned department store in upscale 16th arrondissement of Paris from the late 1930s to 2016. Read the WWD article from 2015 about LVMH closing F&F doors.
YSL wool / cashmere blazer. Shoulder pads have been removed, but stitching remains. Does not come with rope belt, but maybe wrap this yummy 90s Escada around your waist.
I love the detail on the buttons of this blouse. Unmarked size & designer.
Also obsessed with this 1970s suede shirtdress by Tricosa, I would probably wear it as a coat though.
Tricosa Paris was a French fashion brand active from 1960s-1980s. Known for its elegant and avant-garde styles, the brand was often featured in upscale department stores. Tricosa created striking pieces like vintage gowns with spot detailing, gold ombre trapeze dresses, and mohair chevron blanket capes (like this one that sold for $500 on 1stdibs), which were popular in the 1970s.
Ending with a fun one since this U of Paris mascot is giving Pepé Le Pew. Love a worn-in graphic tee.
Bon shopping!
